How about if  ‘church’ was every day and not once a week?

They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved. Acts 2:46-47 (The Message)

I am not sure if, in this post-Christendom world, we see church worship as a discipline. To participate in an act of worship daily is even more strange to most of us. The early church, in Jerusalem, was still very much a part of the Hebrew community and it participated in the daily worship at the Temple. What singled them out was the fact that, following worship, they continued to share together in one anothers homes. They ate, laughed, praised God, and all this was a continuation of their worship.

I wonder how communal we think our spirituality needs to be? How important it is that we should engage in the daily disciplines of our faith? How impressive that would be for others to see true committed Christianity?

Lord, may I make my walk with you today one of worship and fellowship filled with praise for you. Let my life speak to others of the glories of your name so they too may embrace the goodness of your saving grace. Amen.
