Does our Christian life provoke a response like this?

Provoked mightily by all this, the Chief Priest and those on his side, mainly the sect of Sadducees, went into action, arrested the apostles and put them in the town jail. But during the night an angel of God opened the jailhouse door and led them out. He said, “Go to the Temple and take your stand. Tell the people everything there is to say about this Life.” Promptly obedient, they entered the Temple at daybreak and went on with their teaching. Acts 5:17-20 (The Message)

What a surprise to see the apostles, who had been locked up the night before, back in the Temple teaching and preaching the gospel! Would we have the confidence in our God that these folk did, not only to provoke such an opposition, but to return to the place where your opponents could easily find us? When people reject our witness to the gospel of Jesus, do we continue to be approachable, to seek out their company, to give opportunity after opportunity for them to receive Christ, or do we walk the other way?

May we have the courage of our convictions and the confidence in our God to seek out the company of those who reject our message so that they may accept the life of Christ within and journey with us. Amen.
